Could Your Home Inspector See This Water Leak?
My name is Justin Fentress. I am a Certified Infrared Thermographer and Illinois Licensed Home Inspector. If you need a home inspected in Glenview or one of the surrounding communities, it would be my privilege to assist you.
How Does Thermal Imaging Assist Your Home Inspector?
Thermal imaging is a non-invasive way to inspect your home. The thermal imaging camera translates infrared heat signatures into visible light. This allows the inspector to see the different temperatures emitted from different objects. Infrared is not x-ray vision. It only sees temperature changes. The temperature changes (or heat signatures)can indicate moisture problems, electrical problems, insulation problems and more.
A typical home inspection is only visual without the use of a thermal camera. As you can see by the picture above, it is very advantageous to have a thermal imaging camera used to inspect your potential home.
We offer home inspections at a discount if you choose not to use the camera. However, it is highly recommended that you have the home scanned with a thermal imaging camera to decrease the chances of finding hidden problems with the home at a later date.
